Following on from our successful 2014 student panel which shared students' experiences with StudyLink, NZUSA is again joining with StudyLink to help improve the process of applying for student loans and allowances for students.

In 2014, we facilitated a discussion panel with students from across New Zealand, sharing their experiences with StudyLink. The panel provided students with the ability to share their frustrations with StudyLink while producing substantive suggestions for how StudyLink could improve the application process. As a result of the panel, StudyLink made a number of changes. These resulted in reducing the number of unanswered calls from 800,000 in 2013 to 8,000 in 2015 and reducing the time applications take by half-an-hour through the use of pre-filled forms.
